Personally, I reckon they should abolish the S&ST licence and reformat it as a Sportsfish Licence to include Salmon, Sea Trout, Bass, Mullet and Pike.

I don't think the licence system is the answer here guys, well not at the outset anyway. What anglers need to see is a genuine strategy to develop the recreational sea bass fishery that we know can exist if supported, promoted and protected.
Perhaps then anglers will opt in to a partnership arrangement and agree to a small licence fee. I agree with Tanglerat here regarding a sportfishing licence.
We need the fisheries board to get serious about development. Look at how the Danish have developed a world class seatrout fishery.

No more inaction when it comes to illegal netting as a first step


Some posts in this thread nearly romanticise poaching and accept it as a way of life. That's bullshit and that type of rubbish was said about drink driving for years.

Remember to keep reporting illegal nets to the relevant fisheries board or sea fisheries protection office.
