#1 Post by alby »

People:on my own (Eric dumped me)

Duration:5pm - 12am & 1 - 5pm today

Tide:who knows for sure?

Weather:very sunny, decent southerly kicked up today though

Bait:lug, rag & crab

Rigs:pulley pennels & 2 hook flappers

Results:tope, smoothies, codling, flats & dogs

Report:
Just back from honeymoon and had a few extra days off to ease back in to real life :D Said good luck to the missus I'm going to wexford! Dug bait on sunday & got my crab off Dave and away i went happy as larry. Rick dumped me on monday morning, as he was going to see Sex & the city with some young one or something (think he even got some elbow boob action  )

Anyway, I wasn't overly hopeful when I arrived at the mark with bright sunshine and calm conditions, but first cast I had a dog on my distance rod and a flat in close!! The dogs kept obliging out far and mixed in with a few codling up to about 2lbs. I was really hoping for a hound but didn't get a run until nearly midnight, tip went over slowly and didn't spring back just kept arching, happy days, hit it and a cracking fight saw me land a 6.5lb smut, chuffed, i went for a celebratory scoop before closing!

Had plenty of bait left so decided to hit the same mark today, this time I was hoping for a cheeky bass so put some big baits close in, same again out far for the dogs and codling but very little action inclose. Eventually I had a stonking bite on the close in rod and hit into a cracking fish, unfortunately the snood chaffed & broke during the fight as I'd been casting into rocks, I was gutted as I'd say it was a serious fish, anyway, it was by far my best shore session this year, and good to see a few fish moving again.

Nice smut Alby, well done 8) Congratulations on tying the knot, the best of luck to you and the wife for your future together. Is it good to be home. I hope the missus still lets you go out fishing as much now that your married. You could take her out with you, K2 has no choice, I'm out in the car and ready to go as soon as he says he's going out fishing, I love it
