gunwell and fintragh 22/06/10

People:me an friend

Duration:9am-4pm

Tide:high at 3pm

Weather:cloudy but dry

Bait:lug, mac

Rigs:feathers, 2 hook flappers

Results:mackerel, 11 flaties dab and flounder, ballan wrasse corcwing wrasse, tornback ray which i lost while tryed to land had no landing net, wee pouting, few pollacks




Report:arrived in mark just tide began to rise so it's the best in this mark firstly had the2 bottom rods seted and after couple a minutes got first flounder landed, then tooked rod with feathers see whats happens first cast full house of macs next cast nothing on it well macs are coming in small packs in chanel so is not much point to stay too long with that so i passed feathers to me friend who is first time sea fishing atall, than i back to my bottom fishing first 2 hours flatties kept biting while i spoted my rods tip moving very slow and then bang strong pull something havy there nice size thornie shining in clear water tide was low so i can't rich a fish by hands the worst was i saw the hook was badly set in nothin alse i could do just pull up on the line and she gone ah very well she would go back any way just missed nice picture. after the water flooded higher wrasse and polack start appear so i tied float rod to me friend and let him fish for wrasse he apsolutely enjoed this session as he met spesies for the first time in his life and he definetly will go again.after high tide we to head to fintragh beac for an hour or so as followed petekds advise thanks to him fished close in so managed 5 small flounders can see in picture

Great fishing grady, well done. It's a shame you didn't manage to land your ray but don't worry, you'll get another one soon I'm sure. Keep up the good work. That coast your at has some great fishing on offer, I think your gonna have a good summer :D

thanks K1 im not worry to much about ray its my own foult no landing net :oops: u will cry for it on rocks at low tide this mark could be very surprising indeed

well done there grady.ur gettin god fishing from that mark.at least u no theres ray there.was he any size the ray

cheers brian well it wasnt so large id say 4-5lb thats all there is beter i think just need to get some goot bait like crab or somthing like that
