day fishing-wicklow harbour

#1 Post by brows79 »

had a day off so decided i would go on an early morning trip to scour out new marks, ended up in kilcool shingle beach but deciced against fishing there as i had no tripod and last time i fished on a beach without one had to throw away a decent reel as it was totally sanded and useless, ended up in old fav, wicklow harbour, first cast got me a flattie, dont know if its a dab or flounder so i thought thats a good start and the blank is beaten already, but that was that for the day, even tried a bit of feathering useing a spinner instead of a weight but that too was fruitless,2 lads fishing beside me pulled a pollack which was why i started spinning in the first place, but at least the dreaded blank wasnt an option and it was low tide and bright sunshine in the middle of the day but it beats driving that bloody luas all day, incidently anyone any comments on killcool beach before i invest in a tripod :?:

i have been there at least a half a dozen times this year and have never blanked, when you cross the tracks turn right and go to the end of the rocks and set up your gear around there...
