My best mullet session ever 20-6

#1 Post by ecoastbass »

I was on my way for a late shopping 2 day. I met one young angler. He was float fishing for the mullets, just on my doorsteps. He said, that he caught 2 fish. This was a brilliant score, bcoz fishing for mullets in Avoca River was never easy. I'm after few sessions this year- all blanked. So I decided to turn home, pickup light float rod, a loaf Lidls bread and...after 3 mins headed down to the river. There is not to much to say. Fishing was schematic :) cast-bite-strike-good fight-net-aplause :)-photo-relase. Within 2 hrs I landed 6 fish- 2 small-3 around 4lb mark-and.... 6lb 10 oz which is my PB now :) It was my day :) few more pic on my blog :) regards David

Well done David, they are fantastic mullet you caught there, a nice size too 8) 6 fish in one session at one mark is a brilliant acheivement and not that easy to do.
That fish in the second photo is a stonker
Congratulations on catching your specimen mullet too - 6lb 10 onz is a very, very nice fish indeed, that one must have give you some scrap!
I was out myself all weekend fishing for them with K2, it was great craic. I don't know how many bites I missed  they drove me mad at the end of it all, I was very close to throwing my rod in at one stage but I didn't, that's mullet fishing for you. You've just gotta keep going at them and I will until they drive me completely bonkers!

Thx Paula-It was great day for me. Biggest fish gave me more than 10 min an exciting fight. This is why I love catchin them on the light tackle. I got a short bash 2day-conditions looked the same, wind , sun ,tide, same location, but fishin was different. 10 bites and only 1 fish on the bank. Mullets are unpredictable :)
