myself and john arranged a session with determined dan for last night and my son was with us too,arrived at the mark,and thankfully we were able to use the jeep to get there,its a half hour walk otherwise, as soon as we arrived the mackerel showed,and for the next hour we were busy landing doubles and trebles of macky first macky bashing session of the year,god,i missed them!!my young fella is only getting into the fishing lark,and he was using a lght carp rod landing doubles and trebles,man but he had fun!! dan then arrived all in a lather after a long walk! one way of getting excess alcohol out of your system dan! as the mackerel were in full flow i passed my rod to him for a few casts,just in case the run stopped,but we needed not have worried,it went on and on! everybody was into fish including the seal!we ended up stopping fishing for them as we all felt we had enough for our own use,and the heavy rods were set up for tope and huss,i was first in with a good bite and after a good scrap i landed a good huss of 10lb 8 oz,my first this year and a double to boot! thanks for weighing it dan.we all had a few doggies,and then john had a serious run that ended up breaking his fifty lb braid not sure what it was but im guessing tope! soon after he had another bite and suceeded in landing his first huss of the year,4lb 5oz it was all dogs then for the next hour and the rip was savage pulling 6oz leads down to the left within seconds,and the weed came on,then i got a tug and started to haul in weed,but then i felt a knock,and thought it was a dog,but when i landed it,it was a huss about four lb,a few more doggies and we called it a night,great nights fishing and my young fella got a great intro to fishing! will let the lads post the pics as im still getting used to my phone!

I am so envious Noel, had to stay home for the FD celebrations and to be spoiled and wined and dined and all of that - don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to be blessed with a loving wife and family - but, to be honest, deep in my heart I'm still the primitive caveman who, if he has the choice.... you know what I mean ! So I'm typing this with a laughing eye and say: well done, good for you mate! - but not without a tear to the other , as I couldn't be part of the fun, again! I have another boat trip booked for the 3rd and 4th of July and if this one is canceled or something should happen to destroy the plan again
yep it was a good night fishing good huss noel better than mine. will wait for you next time dan when on that spot as you looked tired when you got on the mark good to the young stev on the first mack .
great nights fishing lads.the walk nearly killed me but it was worth it.great result on the huss noel a savage beast.the tope got lucky john you'll get him next time. good fishing Steven it wont be long till you will be teaching us a few things. great crack with the macks and they were really tasty. nice huss john its one more on the list. well lads it was a great nights fishing and laughs. good to meet you all again thanks for the lift back john i dont think i would of made the walk back. roll on the next session .

Sounds like the mackerel where great craic - it's great to see they have well and truly arrived down that way now, at least you will have plenty of fresh bait now. They are still quite scarce up here although there is the odd one being caught from the rocks.
I'm glad to hear that you's had the Jeep to get you's to the mark because I don't you would have made it otherwise

actually paula i forgot the hat! and as for the jeep,all i can say is after seeing the state off dan after that walk,is thank christ we did not have to do it!!
