#1 Post by chrisfeeney30 »

People:myself,kaylemf,eointarmey,husshunter,saving private brian

Duration:various

Tide:various

Weather:mostly dry with a sw wind and a nw wind

Bait:everything bar crab and rag

Rigs:various

Results: pollack, flounder, blennies, tompot blennie, lesser weaver, shore rockling

Report: 14/6/10
Fished a mark with eoin, tried to get a few species including a conger but it wasnt to be, we had a few smaller fish though.
I was off the mark first with a 26cms pollack, i then got a few more pollack until i managed a tompot blennie :) new species :)
Eoin then got a shore rockling and we finished up. Nothing hectic but nice to get a few fish from a handy mark!

15/6/10
Got a text from brian saying him and his mate were coming back from limrick after getting a new engine and asked if i was around for a session, so i hopped out of bed, ran down dug some lug and met the two lads. Decided to fish a mark i hadnt fished in a while but i reconed a few fish would be in there by now, only fished for 3 hours but brian had a double shot of flounder, then i got a double shot at distance while eoin plucked one out from inclose.

17/6/10
Decided to give a beach a shot again as i had the urge for a few flats :D
Reached the mark at low tide and got a nice flounder after a few casts at distance, measured in at 34cms so it was a nice one fore the time of year! God one more flounder in close as the tide filled in around me.

18/6/10
After kaylem hearing a few stories of me getting a few flats he wanted to give it a go. So we went out and i dug about 80 lug and we were set. I was first to get a flounder, a small one at 18cms on my second cast so i was happy the blank was beaten! :) Decided to fish at distance with clipped downs with size 4's again and got another flounder of 28cms.
Tide started to fill again so we had to move of but decieded to try one more cast.
Kaylem was bringing in his rig and said ah a small gurnard, i looked and said no, weaver dont grab it! Haha He got his first ever weaver so a new one for the species list :)

Just got in the door and got a call from yanto asking if i wanted to do a bit of fishing..tope fishing was mentioned so i scoffed down a pizza and hit the road. Fished for 3 hours but no runs, will be out soon again for them though.

All in all not a bad few days fishing...gotta love the summer :)
