Re: mackeral
Went out from Howth this morning with the two kids and didn't get one between us, tried the back of the Eye, Balscadden and around towards the Bailey Lighthouse. We baited the feathers after a while hopping for any kind of fish for the youngest lad but nothing crossed the gunnels.
It wasn't the best tide time but even still, we were disappointed. I would appreciate if anyone wants to share a mark or two (by pm) around North Dublin as a fall back for when all else fails.
Mind you it was a cracking morning, and fish or no fish, it was enjoyable to be out and about.

Re: mackeral
Hi (first time poster), was off Dalkey Island on Saturday, 1 mak in a couple of hours. Tried the Bailey in Howth on Sunday, no maks, moved to Rosbeg bank, small whiting and doggies only - no maks, moved to Irelands Eye off the stack on the way back in, no maks either.....not alot around by the looks of things. A mate was out for a few hours off dalkey Island on Wednesday, got 3 in the first 10 minutes, that was it for the evening.
Re: mackeral
Baginabun head near Fethard, caught 5 in half an hour, birds were diving like mad about 500 yards offshore so I guess a shoal was around. Looks like mackerel are moving east along the coast towards Rosslare and will be up the irish sea soon. imho

Re: mackeral
So not great so far, I've had a few in previous years by the back of the Muglins, but its more convenient for me to launch in Howth without the high Dun Laoighaire parking fees, so was looking for good reports around howth, Irelands eye or lambay. Intend to go out in 2 weeks, will try anyway.
