back to the rocks 17.06.10

#1 Post by last cast lad »

People: me and mick

Duration:7.15-10.30

Tide:up to high

Weather:warm and flat calm

Bait:lug, mackeral

Rigs:flapper pulley

Results:me 2 mackeral, pollack, 2 dab, 2 plaice, 2 dogfish mick 2 flounder, 6 coalie, 6 dogfish, conger

Report: Arrived on the rocks in perfect t shirt weather, fishing as it should be :D and pulled in a couple mackeral as bait is sometimes usefull at this fishing game. Mick of course wouldn't count them as they were bait and not a catch :? He was first in with a flounder and after what seemed like an age I followed with a small Dab about 24cm with the biggest ugliest eyes I've ever seen :!: Micks wish list for the evening was plaice and spent the evening persistently targeting them while I kept one rod scratching and one bait out for conger to feed my fascination of them. Needles to say mick pulled in a conger on a size 1 hook baited with lug  :x while my scratching rigs pulled in 2 plaice much to his frustration  One of micks flounder had quite a lot of sea lice, much more so than normal, they must be breeding more in all this warm weather were having :?
all in all a very enjoyable session and home again at a reasonable time, everybody happy :!:

cracking fishing again lads 8) i noticed when we fished the swilly the other week that all the fish we caught were heavily covered in lice  i did my best to pull as many of them off the fish with the pointy nose plyres as possible before returning them. poor oul fish must have thought the world was against them. covered in parasites then some numpty sticks a pointy hook in your chops and hauls you to shore

Great report + pics.........well done lads...lovely fishin'.
Any chance you could be more specific with mark? I appreciate if you need to maintain discretion, but a a gentle steer wouldn't go amiss: I'm heading to Donegal in August.

Regards,
A.
