New 12-20lb boat rod?

#1 Post by markj »

Hello all,

Im looking to buy a new 12-20lb boat rod, and a reel to suit. I was thinking about the Fladen Maxximus Solid-C 8ft (2pc), although this is being slated on a lot of the UK forums. Can anyone recommend something else or would they rate this rod?

Cheers,
Mark

Not sure of your level mate but a decent 12-20lb class rod that doesnt break the bank would be the Penn Powerstick 12-20. I dont use standard boat rods anymore but when I did, this was a decent rod that handled well for the money.

I agree, I have used the PennPowerstixx 12-20 4 piece for a number of years now. Both for travel and at home. I have had no problems with it. its light enough for scratching about for gurnard and strong enough to handle anything a tope can throw at you... I enjoy using this rod and couldnt be bad at £40 on Glasgow angling centre. :D
