Galway bay mullet 18/6/10

#1 Post by fishinmidget »

People: Steve and myself

Duration:er.....7:30 till 11?

Tide: coming, then going.

Weather: Good. Warm, slight breeze.

Bait: Bread

Rigs: Floats

Results: Steve: one mullet. Me: one(bigger) mullet.

Report: Very short notice session, steve told me he was going after them, and i insisted on tagging along as it is after all, "my" spot

After the humiliation of missing about 8 fish and losing 4(including one MASSIVE one), I finally got one. After Steve got his. I was not a happy chappy   .

nice little impromptu session i must say.. well worth it too as it means another species for my list...

thankfully midget didnt mention my little fall which ended up me getting a little wet.. but at least i kept a hold of the fish the whole time.. :D :D it would be embarrassing if i dropped that after the little scrap it gave.

hehe.. even herself was down with us too and say it.. but she did point out i did fall rather gracefully and was impressed i kept a hold of the fish..

what was funny is the amount of hook-ups midget had and lost bites and the profanities that ensued   where as i only had one missed bite and the next bite.. well its in the photo :D :D
looks like midget could become the mullet master at this rate though!!!

nice one lads. those bloody things are still evading my hook :x i reckon i'd have a better chance of hooking one if i put hooks on the float  . i can wholly sympathize with you alex as the air becomes quite blue when i'm targeting them myself. i can only do one mullet session every so often or i'd have no rods left as they'd all be chucked into the estuary in frustration    . so fair play to the both of you for getting your target species  and even sweeter when you got a bigger one alex :P :P

Aww Alex, I wish you had've got a picture of Steve falling in, that would have been worth a look at
I knew you liked the 'wet look' Steve  Ha! Only joking! I hope it didn't put a dampner on your night Steve :P that's two lovely fish you's caught. Well done fella's.
