The Ledges - 16.06.10

#1 Post by aaronjunited »

People: Ghost & Me

Date : As above

Venue: As above

Duration: 4 hours, 8pm - 12am

Tide: Flood - low water at 8pm

Weather: Not a breeze in sigh, humid and nice to fish in.

Bait: Sandeel, rag, lug, mack

Rigs:2 hook flappers & pulleys

Results: Dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs & 1 gurnard (please confirm)

Report: Ghosty rang me on tuesday wondering if id go with him for a session and me sayin to myself when do i ever miss out on a session we arranged the ledges and left at 7pm just after i had got back from blackhead. So we got there and set up, water was flat calm and not a breeze in sight. We had our baits in the water and awaited what was coming our way. Dogs flew at us every direction we couldnt stop the damn things, double shot after double shot, and ghostys double shots produced a nice gurnard.

We wer hoping for something else to add to the doggs, i was looking a dab and a ray, conditions wer perfect. But those dogs really put a dampner on your session when you cant reach anything else. But hey we cant complain cause we caught some decent fish and we didnt blank. The highlight of the night was ghostys we gurnard, lovely little thing and first ive ever seen one face to face, though them spines dont look too healthey and apparently there good eating. I would love to add the different kinds to my list.

We played the doggs game up untill 12am and we wer still catching them right up to that point until we had to stop the boat and get off. Called it a night as all there was, was you know what. Decent session no blankers, 2 new species in 1 day for I and the Ghost.
Thanks for the trip ghosty mate. ;)

2 pics is all i got

Definately no shortage mate, good thing is they save your blank, but they can be a pest.
