None from shore at Greystones this morning(5.30 - 9.30, HT 7 AM), perfect conditions again, loads of fry and launce about so the macks should be on the way.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at the office!

Tried Carrigaholt this afternoon to see if they made it in this far but had no joy, had a chat with a couple of lads that were leaving as I arrived, they said the only one catching fish was the polish guy on the corner of the pier but they were all undersize Pollock,
I went over to him and seen he had a light plastic carrier bag half full of little Pollock some the size of a cigarette lighter,

I got talking to him as we spoke we watched a large amount of bubbles appear just below us, I thought at first it was an outlet pipe of some sort but then it kept getting nearer when the bubbles got to about ten feet from us the guy cast his float into them and up popped a scuba diver

In the picture you might see the diver making his way back down as the pole pulled his float back… Oh man it was so funny,

Asked him if he got any mackerel but he said he wasn’t fishing for them, so the bag was half full of Pollock, I reckon the bag would break when he tried to lift it but I didn’t hang around to see it.

Lads... I was in Dunlickey yesterday with four of my friends. I was trying to get some for grilling and stock up on baits. We arrived there 5am and already saw a few easetrn europeans camping and fishing at that stage. We went around to an isolated area and started casting up until 8:15am. I won't go into too much details but here's the result:

Mackerel huge ones minimum 35cm: 70 pieces
Mackerel normal size between 25 to 35cm: 43 pieces
Pollock Huge ones 3 pounds and up: 8 pieces
Pollock normal sizes min 25cm size: 45 (we got 2x full house of pollocks)
Star fish between 5 to 10 inches all released

Half bag of black bag trash. We had to take back a lot of trash being left by those who probably fished there a day or two before. Its good there was no wind otherwise those would have ended in the water. Budweiser cans, plastic cover of feather rigs, chips wrappers and more.

We released roughly 16 pollocks that are small, unfortunately due to the height of the cliff I don't know how they were but hopefully survived the trauma.

This just looks like the water temp has risen. We had some good grilling in the afternoon and getting ready for night fishing.

I had my 1st four mackies of the year today on Inis Meain (Aran Islands). Was a short 45 minute session as there was a large swell and mark was getting a bit dangerous. Just ate them for dinner, delicious.
