Actually the waders and the polarised glasses aren't too bad, I got them both last year and I'm still using them regularly. The waders are a little on the heavy side but they are robust and are still keeping out the water, I use them when I couldn't be arsed putting on the breathable chesties, so quite a bit really. As for the glasses, well they're ok, I mean I have better ones but they are cheap and handy to have as a spare pair.

UP THE DEISE!!!!!!!

If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Nobody running a biz in Ireland can match internet prices :!: Costs of doing biz here are making sure of that. For the record, I don't own or work in a tackle shop. The country is in the do do guys.....support your own :!: :!: :!:

I did'nt realise aldi were an irish company and i agree with you though on the prices front in ireland vs tinternet, however if you shop around some local tackle shops do match some prices and even better them in some cases, you just have to be lucky

I agree totally Marlinman, it's well worth an extra few quid. Besides supporting local business you can see and feel the gear and there's valuable local knowledge and insights to be had, not to mention the bit of crack  Support them guys, you'll miss them if they go

I'm a regular at Aldi for cheap DIY tools, but not their tackle; it aint worth loosing a good fish to sub-standard kit, no matter how cheap.

I support my local tackle dealer all the time, despite the fact that he repeatedly and persistently gouges me. Got charged €25 for the headlamp below; picked up the exact same model for €3.99 in Tesco. Fair enough, it's better for anglers to have tackle shops around, but there's a difference between making a profit and profiteering.

couldnt agree more, stay local! You would be supprised to find how many shops will try and match internet prices if you ask, Belfast angling Centre will try and match prices, along with Trap and tackle in Bangor will try and do a deal. Remember haggle as prices are usually marked up.
