Opposite Brandon pier is a steeply shelving beach that you can get bass off on the approaching tide only at night alternatively try the pier there is a pub right next to it.
After all you are on holiday..
Fenit, at the very end of the pier, can get good runs of whiting over the winter so can be good, again at night. try squid or lug baits last year got some of them and it was mainly with squid.
Try blackrock beach for bass 1hr before high water and 1 hr after for schoolie bass
also try Tarbert at at the outflow of the powerstation
good load of whiting in kells bay last year on the beach at night
Good luck
I'll be around the area myself so let us know how you are getting on

cheers for that bob. wil let ya no what the fishing is like. what is the general fishing like at fenit at this time of the year. fished there every summer when we used ta go to banna for hols. also does anybody fish the rocks an the fenit side of the path going through the golf course. fished there used ta get loads of turbot and bass.
No Turbot any more alas at the castle or off the rocks on fenit island but regular catches of bass at the castle at low tide. have not fished there myself since summer (working in Dublin). It is a long trek out there now as someone bought the land a few years ago and is stopping everyone going through. you can still walk around. but it would be a hell of a trek in winter. Never really fished the island in winter. Must get a 4 wheel drive and i could drive most of the way out..

sorry lumpy that was me
On fenit: have not fished since Fenit. I remember hearing talk of cod there a few years ago but it was probably just that, talk. you need cold deep water for them and I do not think it is there. I have never met anyone who has caught them there but I'm no expert so give it a try expect dogs and crabs and weed. It is a very convenient spot to fish though. I'd say try the beaches for Bass stradbally gaulawn (not the correct spelling) and fermoyle with lugs.
