IMELDA Dunlaoghaire
Vessel:IMELDA
Crew:me and son Darragh
Duration:10 to 4
Tide:ebb and flood
Weather:great slight SE breeze
Bait:crab mack launce lug
Rigs:flowing, and various
Results:thornback ray, grey gurnard ,tub gurnard,mackerel,launce, whiting,cod,poor cod, LSD,ballan wrasse, 10.
headed out for a few hours in search of a few species, could not find the macks so headed to a launce mark i have and within 20 minutes we had about 40 in the bait basket it never fails to produce the numbers
next we headed to a mark that i have had some very nice gurnard from and straight away darragh landed a tub, we were also getting pestered with whiting and a few dogs then i got a nice headshaker of a bite nice gurnard on landed a tub about 2lb guessing weight, a few minutes later darragh landed a nice gray just under about a pound.
time to move again went in search of the hounds not a sniff of one, so another move anchored up frozen mack and launce flappers went down which resulted in me getting two ray and darragh getting one all males also lost a couple then the dogs became a problem time to move again.
done a bit of searching for the other few species we got and for the life of me could not get a pollack or a dab, alll in not a bad day out.

Nice one John, good to see the raymonds about, and as to wearing waders and no life jacket on a boat, your a bold boy
Your a role model to young kids like eric and tony so set the example man

as you know i would be the first one to pull somebody up for not wearing a jacket at sea, i will not leave any harbour withouh all crew wearing a life jacket including myself even if the conditions are like a mill pond

if you look at the picture my straps were undone for wader removal when this gurnard took the bait, look at the pic of me with ray and see what im wearing

Nice fishing John, Great mix there, especially for the East Coast. That Tub mark seems to have some decent fish on it
