killoughter co wicklow
decided to brave the bombed out lane into killoughter and fished it from 20.00 hours until 02.00... rag and mack where the bait of choice and the result was ...dogs..dogs .. and more dogs.. I have no idea how to avoid them and they where taking the rag as soon as it hit the water, so i tried a sliding boom with one 3.0 hook and a chunk of mack on ...and all i can say was that " it was a very successful tactic "...successful in catching more dogs

well at least it beats a blank..and i got to see the weirdest looking moon i have ever seen..

Re: killoughter co wicklow
know how u feel was there thursday with a friend from 15:00 to 21:00 nothing but dogs no matter what we tried' different baits, different hook size, dfferent distances still dog on every time. About 30 altogether, did see small fish jumping all over the place as sun went down, tried spinning and floatfishing with rag and mack but nothing. Not sure what they were maybe mak or small mullet?Anyway a blank saved is always a good day out

Re: killoughter co wicklow
brave men driving that lane
you could have tried fishing in the potholes for trout
gave it a lash during the winter small cod and whiting not worth the drive down the lane
