Feast on May 30th

#1 Post by finding nemo »

People: wrasse king, powderkeg, krusty and myself

Time: 3.30pm - 22.00pm

Tide: heading out and coming in

Bait: live peelers, rag, sandeel, razor

Result: Ray, Smoothies (starry and common), Monster Dogs, Codling, Whiting, Pollack, Flounder and Dab

Headed down to Wicklow on Sunday to try out some live peelers, never used them before so was expecting some good results. Fished for 3hrs with one of two bites but no joy.
We decided to head to another beach further south to see if there were any fish about. As soon as we arrived it was nonstop action from start to finish. It was doubles flying in! double dogs, double smoothies and even a double with a nice codling and a small spotted ray. We had flounder, dabs and whiting and afew small pollack. Smoothies were all pups the biggest being around 1 1/2 lbs. The dogs were monsters with very fat bellies. have they been feeding alot or maybe preggers? Was the best session ive had since i began just over a year ago, must have had 80 fish  and in daylight  . Lets hope the fishing is this good all summer. Thanks Dave for the peelers wont be leaving home without them it seems everything was onto it as soon as it hit the water.

Didnt have the camera but wrasse king made sure he got one of his Ray on his phone so he will lash that up when he gets a chance.

Cheers,

Fai play on the Ray. It actually looks a bit like a small painted to me rather than a spotted.

I'm probably wrong though, and if I am I'm sure someone will educate me

UP THE DEISE!!!!!!!

If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.
