Salthill 31-5-2010

#1 Post by kaylemf »

People: Myself and Husshunter came down for a while

Duration: myself, 6.45pm - 10.pm Husshunter, about half 8 - quarter to 10.

Tide: High at 8.23pm

Weather: very wet and a very strong S/SSE wind

Bait: mackerel

Rigs: pulley, two hook clipped down.

Results: Myself; 1 doggie Husshunter; blank

Report: had a few hours to spare so i decided to head down for a few casts, wasn't raining when i got there but five minutes after i got there the heavens opened, was raining for most of the night, anyway i got set up and cast out around 7pm, just after i cast out it started lashing rain and there was thunder and lightning so i had to go and take shelter across the road, bait had been in the water for a good while when i decided to go back as the rain eased off, reeled in but nothing there, again cast out as far as i could get it, didn't see the bite but when i reeled in there was a doggie on the end, blank saved :D cast out again before Husshunter came down, not much else to report, Husshunter left for Silverstrand after a while, not sure what he got there...
Fishing is poor in Salthill lately hope it improves soon

thats this fishing game for you - catching ray and huss to beat the band out in connemara and then nothing

went to same spot as yourself and chris the last day and only had 3 fish - many places hit and miss yet
