report made a decision to go visit a mate back west who has just returned from australia and also came up with a brainwave to bring me rods too  so i loaded up me van and off i went with good intentions on not returning to my home til atleast 3-5am.i was determined to have a good long nites fishing for myself as my morale needs it.on me drive back there was cops floating around all ova the place but any way kept goin.after my chat to me mate i headed for the beach and got the rods out at 10 00pm..the nite was coming on fast and there was very little wind.surf was poor and it was a slow decent type beach mark but further out there was a deep channel which with the goin tide i was hoping to be able to get into at sum point and pull a decent fish or 2 out of it.at about 11pm a van with spot lights came to my right and parked about 150 yards away and put the full lights on me for a few mins then turned them off.he was watching me who ever this was.i went up to approach them but they drove off and went to the pier further away and done the same.i looked behind me left and there seemed to be more cars around this time at nite for this quiet area than normal.one car stopped and turned lights off too.i was being watched so i decided to pack up to which i reeled in a sanddog.i was dissapointed to end me nite like that and as i drove out an exit from the village an 08 d mondeo car with 2/3 ariels speed past me.

i rang me mate and he told me 4/5 weeks back they had a small drugs seizure at the harbour so the communities fully allert and with my lights on the beach i suppose they taught i was a drug smuggler too

ah well wat a nite.didnt even bother wit a pic cause im sick of catching those fish.

has this happened any1 else

Ah the memories. Try Killiney Beach any night of the week. There seems to be quite a few people interested in nocturnal sea gazing over this way. Catching lsds isn't the only type of dogging going on up here. Same thing happened to me a while back. I was standing there fishing under the full headlights. It's very off-putting but does save the bateries on the headlamp. :)
List 2010. fish

List 2011: less fish

2012: less fish again,

2013: even less fish.

Hi Brian,

Maybe you should get one of these for your next trip, it burns a little better then spot lights and will let them know your not pleased,

it might be best if you also have a much weaker red pointer light in case it is the coppers that you just blinded that way if they come at you you can show them the weaker light
I dont think these's things are legal in any country because they will weld the retina to the back of your eye if you look directly at it, so a quick flash is all it will take at distance to make them turn off or come get you

I had one years ago and the distance you can get with them is wicked,

BUT BE WARNED : THIS THING CAN BLIND ANYTHING THAT LOOKS INTO THE BEAM,

Thats why i broke mine up before dumping it,

Get someone with a big hairy arse to bend over a few times in the spot light and that will probably get them to turn off their lights

Y'know, I can think of at least one way in which this plan could go seriously wrong :D
