Caught seven mackerel in about an hour while fishing for Pollock from the boat within a 100yards of the cliffs at the castle / Dunlicky Co Clare :D ,
While I was there I kept an eye on the dozen or so bashers that were shoulder to shoulder fishing from the cliff but I didn’t see a fish being caught, YOU JUST CANT GET THE DISTANCE WITH THEM ALDI ROD'S :)

That was on Sunday the 23rd may, I have notice the water temp seems to be rising fast, so I reckon there will be a few full house’s caught by next weekend,

We brought the boat out to dalkey on sunday, there was loads of mackeral around, dalkey sound fished best on the droping tide.
I had 36 mackeral for the session, there was around 80 fish in the boat for 4 hours fishing.

Hello all,
With a long weekend ahead for many of us how about getting a whip around of reports from around the country? I'll try get one or two in myself as well.
Posts are welcome from all sides, blanks very good to know!
If anyone hits a rich seam over the weekend try to post it asap with as much info as you're comfortable with. Summer might be here but if my memory serves me right the reports of shore caught macks went quiet for a number of weeks in June/July, which I took to mean they weren't showing up in the same numbers for that period. Interesting to see if that's an annual trend.

i trust you was joking with the charter thing??? i have seen hundreds of coloquial terms and pronunciations( ie write it as you pronounce it and not the true spelling) on this site go uncommented.....
