ah well dogs r dogs grady.better than notin.u get sick of them very easily.i had a beach like that a week or 2 ago and i got notin else but dogs.some beaches r just dog compounds
How do Grady, the fact you were getting a heap of dogs would suggest you were fishing too far out. Next time, if its flats you want, and Fintragh is full of em, drop small baits in at ten yards and work your way out in 5 yard increments every 15 minutes or so till you find them. You shouldnt pick up the dogs in that close.

Probably as good there as anywhere else mate, just fish in really close for the flats and keep your rod tip down so as to fish your baits hard on the bottom. Lighter leads for a bit of movement will help enormously. It can seem daft to fish at 10 -15 yards on a sandy beach but they can come in much closer than that at times.....

Im Donegal bound tomorrow, and hope to fish in this area - I have walked Fintra strand and I always imagined there to be a lot of flatties. Although I got my eyes set on another deep water mark which isnt too far away and i have had dogs, macks, pollack before but id imagine there is a good chance of ray and conger also. if anyone fancies joining me you more than welcome, send me a pm
