STINGRAY dreamers....... take note

#1 Post by sully »

I've already posted info about this on the 'clubs and competitions section' but because its such a worthy cause I'm sticking it in the angling news section as well in the hope that everyone sees it and as much money as possible is raised for the Temple Street Childrens University Hospital. The 150 is guaranteed plus 100 second and 50 for third all donated! At the moment there is over 20 spot prizes to be raffled at the prize giving more coming in every day!

Tralee Bay had an open the 25th of April on the same venue! There were no blanks with over 30 competitors Bass,Flounder and Ray made up the impressive haul with the winner needing 14 to win it! I myself had 11 with the lads on each side having 5 and 6 respectively! The other big attraction besides the charitable contribution is the chance of one of the big stingers that this venue is famed for! One will almost certainly be caught as its the perfect timing! Also the chances of the Rare Undulate Ray to boost the species tally for the year are a distinct possibility!! All anglers are invited juniors prizes are also on offer all levels of angling ability will be in attendance so hope to see you there!

Prizes.... Food...... Fish.... and the best excuse ever to go fishing.... Charity!

Hey, Glad to say almost 1000euro was raised for charity. The weed played havoc with the tactics with something that resembled a green algae type monster covering the baits almost immediatley! The winner ended the day with 5fish 2nd had 3fish one being a 'butterfly' stingray 3rd had 3flounder. Considering the poor weed and S.E wind the fishing wasnt the worst the fact that it was scorching helped the situation!

The food and drink was fantastic and the huge amount of spot prizes saw one poxy so and so escaping with a 50euro oil voucher, 50euro meat voucher and a bottle of paddy to wash it down! A big thanks goes out to all the sponsers for their generous sponsorship and congratulations to John Sheehan for all the hard work that made it such a successful day!
