wicklow species hunt

#1 Post by eric »

People: me and conor

Duration: 3-6pm

Tide: on the rise

Weather: balmy

Bait: rag and mac

Rigs: simples and clip downs

Results: dogs, pouting, poor cod, corkwing wrasse, ballan wrasse, tompot blenny, dab, pollock, dragonette and codling. 10 species in all

Report: with the cracking weather conor hatched the plan to hit wicklow pier for a few hours this afternoon t see if any early wrasse were around. got up a 9 this morning to go out to clontarf to give him a hand digging a few worms, recession and all that :)

eventually reached the mark after a top notch weight watcher diet in the fuller household. think i consumed 8 pts whatever that means. from the off there was plenty of fish around, mostly pouting. then the wrasse came on in dribs and drabs. at distance we achieved a dragonette each, one of which was conor's first so he was delighted! also manged a couple of dogs each, then it was back to mini bashing even notching a tompot! conor forgot to email me that pic so he can post it here haha

Very nice fishing there lads, well done. That spot is great for racking up the species alright as always has the potential to throw up something unexpected.

Are you forgetting the sausage roll you ate? That was 8 points on it's own. Sorry about the pic, I missed it.! And poor Gordy and his fear of Slippery Langeraus or the Common Grass snake because he couldn't get to Greystones quick enough

Well done Eric and Conor. Great report and nice pictures too.
Eric - your photo's are everywhere lately. I couldn't beleive my eyes when I seen you in Irish Angler magazine last week, I didn't even buy a copy, how awful is that, sorry. :P   But well done again, you and Chris did us all proud on here.
