Hi lads
Lumpy, you mentioned fishing West of Cork for good Huss fishing. How far from Cork are these venues? are they all rough ground? What is the best time of year?
A few Welsh lads came over in Oct and fished the Shannon area we had Ray, Conger and Huss, plus about another dozen or so different spieces, we had a great time. Met up with some local lads there to, thanks to Neilus and Sean for the help they gave us. Wouldn't mind coming over to target the big Huss you mentioned around the Cork area.
Any help/info would be great thanks lads.

mainly schull area. fish for them in the summer may to october really. not certain what their like after that, in collage up the country still so don't get the chance ta fish for them during the winter. hoping ta get a chance in over christmas.3 hours before and 2 after high water seems to be most productive. the ground we fish is very heavy, any thing up to a dozen leads a session is not uncommon.sum excellent wrasse as wel if things are quiet. we fish nemisis slr's with 40Ld straight tru and sl30sh reels. 100Lb pully rig with 6/0 mustads. frozen mackrel sausages the top bait (two mackeral fillets bound to the hook with elastic so you end up with a sausage shaped bait).
