#1 Post by trout hunter jnr »

People:Me and the father

Duration:10.30 pm until 1.45 a.m.

Tide:falling

Weather:Not too bad

Bait:Lug

Rigs:various

Results:2 rockling, 2 flatties, 5 Bass

Report:Father picked me up after work and headed down to Courtown to get bait. Headed to a mark full of lads and anyway started with slow fishing and then we were heading the ban time when of course as they would the bass come onto the block the best fight out of any fish I've ever had with the bass beating the rod mad. Good nights fishing and things look good for fishing in its season next June.....ya know i heard its just because im on the exam time slot now for this month  ah sure wont be long until ill be changing me address to Roney Point :P

Fisherman's prayer:
God grant that I may live to fish, For another rainy day.
But when my final cast is made, I then most humbly pray.
When nestled in your landing net, As I lay peacefully asleep.
You'll smile at me and judge, That I'm "good enough to keep"!

Always nice to get the bass. I was going to post a report but decided to tag onto yours, hope you dont mind. Had 2 marks in mind for friday evening and chose the furthest one.Headed on a 2.5hour drive to south west wexford to spend 3 hours reeling in huge clumps of non fighting weed, packed up and moved twice to avoid it but it was just getting worse. Blank. Decided to hit the other mark on the way home, but after a feed of chips in Ferns I didn't get set up till 1.30am. It didn't help to be told by the father and son team on the beach that the bass had come in for and hour, fed like mad and gone (sound familiar trouthunter jnr.). Had a dab and 4 flounder before reeling in a double of bass around 35cm and 45cm, typical, well past the ban at this stage so unhooked the fish in the water packed up and went home.
Well done on choosing the right mark at the right time.
