I know Danny. And just when it seemed like I was stepping up to the plate

I love your reports and blogs by the way. But I despise you for making me want to go lure fishing for bass at all sorts of ungodly hours :)

I might see you on a rocky finger some day.

Enjoy whatever it is you'll be doing for the next 30 days or so.

Sully, he put up some scrap alright. My drag was set fairly tight but he was still pulling braid off the spool as if the bail arm was open! He busted my lure up real good too. He snapped the hook and also straightened one of the split rings that attaches the hook to the lure. And here's the bit where I realise the gods were really looking down on me that morning - just as the fish was beached the lure (while still attached to the fish) slipped straight off my line! Apparently I hadn't used an appropriate knot. I had read how normal monofilament knots slip out of braid without slight modifications. But did I listen and take action? Nnoooooo. Well thankfully I didn't have to learn the hard way and I still managed to land the fish. To be honest if it had of come off in the water I probably would've thought the line just snapped??!!

Tight lines,
John D.

Sorry for removing some pictures!

Hi lads.

Apologies for the removal of some pictures relating to this post. One of the lads I was fishing with didn't particularly want his pictures on the Internet.

And thanks to jd for helping me with this.

Tight lines,
John D.
