i think it is a total disgrace that a man who fully takes part in the forum by submitting catch reports and answering questions and generally helping others has to leave due to people harrising him on his mobile phone for details of marks.for the people conserned why dont you get of your back side and do some home work yourself ,instead of harrising a man who has helped many.john

good god don,,, don't take any heed of those idiots. it's an angler's discretion as to decide if he wants to disclose a location to any one or not   if any one is presumptious enough to think they have some god given right to be told about the location of a productive mark,,, think again :x :x :x ... or better than that,, direct them to me and i'll explain it to them in no uncertain terms how it stands. it would be a crying shame if you were made to feel that you have to leave because a few noses were put out of joint over a mark   . you have been more than kind to us over the years (and many others) with help, support and info about anything fishy and i would hate to think that we'll not see you posting any more on the site due to lurkers who rarely post, but get annoyed when you won't tell them about a mark you have spent time and money finding :x really makes my blood boil to think that someone who has contributed so much to the forum would be marginalized and forced out by people who contribute nothing to the site other than their 3 posts so they can lurke some more

When somebody has put in the hard work scouting around then identifying a mark testing out a mark over various tides what bait works what time of year is best etc etc It is then the individual anglers right whether to reveal that mark or not... I would ask everyone to respect that right.

Don dont let the knockers and begruddgers get to you. These people have no sense of fair play and just want to ride around on the bloody hard work done by other true anglers like yourself. They cannot be called anglers, tossers would be a better descripton. I enjoyed every second I spent fishing with you and I learned more from you in the short time since I met you than I did in over twenty years of fishing. Dont let them get to you man. I hope you will reconsider your decision and stay on the site. It will be a poorer place if you dont.
Ya should a been here last week.

a big thank you to the friends that i have made on here, and thanks for the pm's from the mod's, i've had a few days off thinking about this, and have decided to stay on the site. at the end of the day i've done nothing wrong, so why should i go. since i joined this forum i have made a lot of very good friends on here, and hopefully will make more. most importantly i do not in any way blame the site, its all down to a few mindless sick individuals that hand out abuse when they cant get there way. well you's haven't won!!!!! I'M STAYING PUT...
as ole rab c said " see me' see the sea' i love the sea me"

Just seen this now Don  and i'm so glad youve decided not to let the As'h*les win  Disgraceful carry on and i know its easy for people to say "dont mind them", but having been in that position myself before I know that its hard not to let it get to you.We dont come on here to get ourselves stressed out, quite the opposite, its nourishment we need, not punishment   .Hopefully i'll manage to get up to your neck of the woods someday and meet up for a session,,besides we missed you enough last year when you were off for a while

Don,

Im glad to hear you have changed your mind. The site needs more anglers like you and some of the other genuine anglers on hear that are more than willing to give advice and show people the best tactics etc. People like yourself and a few others have changed the way I fish and have opened my eyes to the fact that there is a whole lot more than mackeral and pollock out there.

Jonny

I've been away from the site for the last 12 months and it seems to have attracted quite a few di$ks in that short time, however these type of people will ALWAYS be of a minority and they'll dissappear and as quickly as they arrived.

This forum is the best shore angling site on line, I have learnt a lot about techniques and venues from the lads on here. I'll never forget my first Donegal Thornie or my first Wexford Smoothie, not to mention all the other reports you read from up and down the country that inspire you to get off your ass and catch.

Glad you've decided to stay Don, and I'll continue to look forward to your reports. 8)

Where did you say you caught the Turbo's................

Jayus Don Ive just read about your hassle. That sort of behaviour is disgracefull and should not be tolerated. I hope those involved are removed from the site Glad to see your staying on. Your a gentleman and a scholar and would be greatly missed by all genuine anglers.

Well done everyone, another great session that sounded like great craic, wish I had've been there - maybe soon.
Nice one on the flounder and turbot Don 8)
I hope Al brought plenty of grub with him cause by the time you got your hands on the food there wouldn't be much left for anyone else!
Great report and pictures too.
