DONEGAL Flatie's Ding' Ding' round II 12-5-10

#1 Post by fishermannum1 »

People me,al',bigbadtom,Belfastdan,mark

Duration 1pm ish till 6.15pm(al' and the guys stayed on)

Tide rising

Weather bliss

Bait everythring

Rigs pulleys & flapper's

Results (when i was there) flounder, turbot, brill

Report we had arranged for another meet up for round two at the flaties, for the first session threw up two pb's for al' and one pb for the wee man jordan. so with al' Belfastdan and mark traveling up from Belfast, i contacted Bigbadtom from the site to see if he wanted in on the action, his replay was "name the place & time and i'll be there" so info; was passed on to him. then i got a call from al' saying that he was now driving across the foyle, i had the car already packed up so off i went and meet up with them just inside Donegal. we headed on to the beach were we meet up with Tom, who was already set up on the beach, and had informed us that he had already landed a nice turbot of 30cm's. we picked our spots and got the gear set up and the baits in the water. straight away i was into a nice turbot, and next cast produced a fine flounder, while i was unhooking the flounder i seen tom pulling in a double shot of flaties, looking down the beach i seen al' also landing fish. so from what i could see is that everone was into their fish 8) 8) it was like this for most of the session. then tom landed another nice flounder, his pb of 41cm's :P he was well chuffed with it. the fishing then went a bit quiet for a while, so al' headed off the beach he' he' i knew were he was going 8) a while later al' called us and we headed up for a feed of pork sausages chicken fillets and baps 8) 8) 8) 8) and they went down a treat   after the grub we got back into our fishing, and again tom was landing more flaties, then al' came up the beach with a new species, his first brill!!!!! cracker one :P :P soon after that i had to head off, and tom had to shoot the crow aswell. i haven't a clue what the final tally was fish wise but i'm sure "team flounder"   could fill in the blanks, for myself it was five or six flounder and one turbot. had a great day out and really enjoyed myself, the banter and crack was great.
a few pic's, some are not great, should have taken off the sand.

   'BRILL'iant don  things really slowed down after you left. but we all had a good few before that. mark had a couple of flounder, dan had plaice, flounder and 36cm coalie and the smallest brill i've ever seen. no bigger than a tea bag and it was hooked fair and square in the mouth on a jelly worm dan was leadheading through the surf  the worm was 3 times it's size    another sucessfull session and my first ever brill  jordan was'nt too happy to hear that there are brill on the beach and he missed out, but he can't complain after his may day treat to galway and the monster flattie session at the weekend  i've sent his galway thornie pic and big turbo pics off to the sea fishing mags again, so i'll have to keep an eye out for them in the coming months  i'll resize all the pics and put them up when i get back to the house later :D a great day out with good fishing, good weather and good company. what more could you ask for :D
