People:myself and 2 Germans alex and clause
Duration:19.00 to 22.30
Tide:high 17.04 4.7m low 23.02 1.0m
Weather:cold with a light wind
Bait:sand eel mackerel squid
Rigs:3 hook flappers and pulley rig
Results: 1 dog fish
Report:i brought the 2 germans who started work with me fishing as they had never fished before, after a bit of training they picked it up pretty quick and it wasn't too long before they started getting bites, alex hooked a dog fish but lost it near the shore
after a while I got a bite and landed a doggie
and before all the smart lads on the site start the bull by saying its a huss I would like to tell them to cop on and keep all that crap out of shore reports and I will be clicking on the little red exclamation mark to report any idiot that's starts the crap like in my last report
alex spotted a fish jump and he said it was grey/silver in colour and I said I thought it was a sea trout he spotted but then later he started shouting there is the fish I looked and it was massive too big to be a sea trout my guess it was a Salmon and by going on what I have seen taken from the corrib I would say it was 20lb +,the light was fading so it was hard to see the colours,it did poke its nose out of the water a few times on its way out
has anyone ever seen salmon or bass poking its nose out of the water like that and do sea bass leap out of the water?

fair play gettin a few hours out there even if the results weren't great. I saw the comments on your last post, i would take f**k all notice of that. A bit of advice is ok but some fellas take things (and themselves) a bit serious. We're all only in it to have a bit of craic so keep at it and keep bangin up the catch reports.

it wont put me off putting up reports but i think crap like that has put lads off putting up reportsevan699 wrote:fair play gettin a few hours out there even if the results weren't great. its lovely to read shore reports from around the country and to see what others are catching
i would like to see more lads posting reports,as you said it all a bit of craic but some lads do take it too serious because they think they know everything where as most lads on the site are just amateurs and still learning
maybe there should be a Option in the shore reports where the poster can lock his own topic
they did ask if you could eat it but i told them about clifden sewer going in to the bay and they didn't ask to keep itdoggie3131 wrote:well done on getting out gerry, and its a doggie all rightdid the germans want to bring it home,i hear they love them!

Re: clifden bay co galway 12th may 2010
could you imagine hooking the big fella gerry

good god, that big salmon would put my PB conger to shame

. a fella was talking to me on the beach last week and told me that it's impossible to catch a salmon from the beach

told him about the one doggie got a few months back and he reckoned i was pulling his leg

. turned out he was a fly fisherman who knew all there is to know about fishing

. just no talking to some people
. but the way i look at it goes like this,, dose'nt matter what you catch, so long as you enjoyed catching it
