Ok, can we agree on Friday 25th?

Was talking to some of the guys and they were saying that there might not be enough room for everyone at some of the venues talked about if everyone turns up.

Portrush harbour was suggested as a possibility - any objections?

although i wont be there if there are more than 3 of you i wouldnt go to ballintoy, as pookie says, the harbour might only throw up small stuff, why not give the likes of carnlough beach a chuck?should be a good few fish on it this time of year?just another suggestion for you all......

Would be up for that too, have not had a chance to fish there for a while.

What do the rest of you think?

#29 Post by b0ogaloo »

Just to bump this thread again

Forum meet is 1 week away ...... still no venue decided

The long range forecast is giving 22 mph nw winds

we need to make a decison on a venue, and a backup if the winds too strong

From the beach, clean ground, pretty shallow. Expect flatfish to decent size, if you are jammy there might even be a few small Bass about. Last time we fished it there were small Turbot being caught close in.

Fishing the competition tomorrow so will have more information after that.

The only thing I see is that the tides are not going to be great wherever we go.

If the wind swings round badly to the point that it is not going to be enjoyable then may have to shift venue a day or two before but should not cause anybody any problems.

Hi all

The tides for Waterfoot / Antrim coast are bad ...high @ 17.40

So we will be fishing a falling tide :(

I went to the competition on sunday and most fish were caught at distance.... wasnt a big load of fish caught, considering the amount of anglers

So ... the other option, which has been suggested to me by other forum members who know their stuff (allegedley :) )...is to fish portstewart strand on a rising tide
low is @ 21.20 ....

Im easy, i'll fish anywhere what does everyone think ?

I think in future we should look at the tides before deciding on a date.

Right im off to get some kip...600 odd miles to drive in a few hours time :(
