Headed down to fahan this evening for a thornie session full of optimism and hoping to run out of bait, got set up in the warm evening sun and settled down to watch the rod tips dance but after about an hour of absolutely nothing I missed one distintive thornback take
, even allowed the bite time to develop, had the fish on but mustn't have been hooked as it seemed to let go about have way in 
. Settled back into nothingness until I felt a little too much weight as I pulled in one rod to change bait, hadn't even seen the bite, must have been sitting on top of it just munching away, landed a heavily pregnant thornback save the blank and it tipped the scales at 6lb. Then after another hour of nothing with only the welcome conversation of another angler setting up for the night to pass my time I packed up and headed home
