rigs... pulley, two hook flapper,, one hook clip down .....
weather... wet, windy ,north east and cold...
result..... Well now the blank gods have lefted me for someone else thank god... stefwest and my self decided that after all my blank and hardship we would put things right.... So off we went to west conamara.. weather was not looking great with a hard north east blowing with pleanty of mist with it..... So the hell with it we set of a 10am from my house after the breakie and where fishing by 11.30am.... stefwest was first off the mark after only 5 min with a ray.. great we are off soon after that i was in with a ray... it was the longest retrive of my life ,,,, thinking if i drop this that it,,, doggie would find out..... but to my delight landed it,, was i happy, that i nearly made love to it.... blank god,,BYE,BYE..... we fished that mark for 3 hours and had a slaughter of fish every cast,,, ray and doggies......
next mark meet tornadeo8 there we had already started to fish but it was slow the north east wind was howling and wet but we carried on.. just a mike arrive i got a flounder,,, stef still waiting... i was talking to mike as he set up and he ask me if there was any ray off this beach, not sure i said,,, within that on his first cast over the rod tip went a ray... nice one mike.... next up was my turn,,, ray.... and then mike top it off with a fine ray to 7lb... nice one from a beach mark... so we fished there till about 9pm and then headed to our final mark..... happy out with this mark aswell throw up some nice fish to myself and stefwest,, doggies, ray, flounder, sand dabs and whiting...... finished up at 12 midnight and headed for the hills... all in all great days fishing and as always with my cousin stefwest and mike aka tornadeo8.....

Well done Alan. I knew it wouldn't be long before you started catching plenty of fish again.
Your back and your back in style, that's a brilliant selection of fish you's caught there.
I had my fingers crossed that your luck would change and thankfully it looks like it has, nice one

thanks paula.. i had more then my fingers crossed that morning... all went well we finished up with about 30 fish over all...... thanks again.... LUCKY..........
ye mate a good owl scrap.. the best scrap is if you fish a two hook flapper.. the take is better because the ray comes up off the sea bed to get the bait.. a good bend over on the rod when hooked.... come to the west anytime.......
great to see your getting back into the fish again alan . those blanks can have you start to question and second guess yourself after a while . but what a days fishing the 3 of you had . the boat trip might be saved , there were rumours of doggie rumageing around in the shed at home looking for a plank to take out on the boat with you this weekend if you had'nt started catching again
ha al thanks for that great to get over the blanks.... i think doggie might need a very strong plank cause i dont cause i dont give up that easy..... roll on sunday... hope the weather picks up for it..... not looking good.... north east winds promised....
ye mike.. i really thought it was the one when i saw the silver shine with the cat lamp.... i will get it soon....... give me a shout when your back for a session.......
