Late report, we went down to Ardmore for the bank holiday, we fished our local mark with lures friday, sat, sun mornings no joy :( We got some nice peeler of bhoy32 it was so good the local dog had it for breakfast :    we rang John and he kindly came back with more peeler and a few marks as well thanks John 8) . we headed to east Cork to the first Mark John gave us there was a few people fishing when we arrived, we blanked :( and we only seen two doggies been caught the whole night. We went back again the next night this time there was nobody there we had 8 rods out not a bite, then we seen fish jumping all over the place. I took a lend of Simons spinning rod and cast out I hooked up to a nice fish but the line snapped when I was about to bring him to the surface  that was the end of Simons brand new plug all the way from the USA  Just as we were packing up I got a doggie on my last cast first doggie for me  The last night we went back to waterford for johns second mark, Simon got a Codling and a Coalie i think, another first for him :D that was it for the night. For our last sesion we went went to the same mark we fished the night before, the breeze would nearly cut you in two it was really cold. soon Mark had a nice Flounder at 40cm :D it was easily his pb. Next Simon had a small Flounder or plaice and then i got a small flounder, that was it, not what we were hoping for but we had a great time and look forward to September and going back for a few Bass, I got no pictures maybe Mark will put some up.

Lure fishing is very poor down this way at the moment - with the calm weather over the weekend I gave it a try but not a bite either.
But at least you got yourselves a few nice flounder - and those damn little codling are still around. I tried bait fishing an estuarine mark the other night also using some of bhoy32's juicy peelers hoping for a bass but with every cast the bait was chewed by small codling. There wont be any crabs left in the estuaries unless the little feckers clear off soon

Howefully when you return in September there will be plenty of bass around.
Cod season Winter 2013/14: 117 cod (best fish: 6.5 lbs)
Cod season Winter 2014/15: 193 cod (best fish: 4.25 lbs)

Bass Totals:
2007: 1
2008: 37
2009: 120
2010: 44
2011: 151
2012: 79
2013: 20
2014: 19
2015: 11
2016: 3
