Hi guys,
Does anyone use a pocket PC for Nautical charts and if so what software do ye suggest?
I upgraded my phone last year and kept the old Phone as backup GPS for the car, I'm hoping to use this as a primary nav in the boat but am a bit befuddled looking for the software. Windows based phones are a bit harder to shop for than an iphone with an appstore!
Any thoughts on C-eMap's http://www.c-emap.it/cartography.htm
Thanks

You are right about the iPhone and App store, I just got the navionics chartplotter for my iPhone and it is incredible, exactly the same as their platinum chart which costs 273eu, but the app costs 24.99, and its the only one I have heard of reviewed well for smart phones

you need 3 things to be able to do this.
garmin mobile XT
garmin mapsource
and
Garmin BlueChart Atlantic .
it works well though (pity my phone no longer works though
)
that will work with all smart phones (windows mobile and symbian 60v2 + (all nokia N series and E series))
for iPhone, navionics (as Dave Jolly) mentioned.. rather cheaper too (pity the iPhone isnt) make sure you get Marine: UK Holland version and not Marine: West Europe

Navionics app is now 14.99 but getting horrendously bad reviews on the App store, everyone is reporting extremely poor and frustrating functionality saying that it is very slow, it crashes and it loses data. Pity as I was about to buy it to save me buying expensive Cmaps for my Navman plotter
