All Whiting April 24, 2010

#1 Post by simplywabs »

People: Gabriel & Me

Duration: 4 hours or so...

Tide: Flooding

Weather: Blustery wind...

Bait: Sandeel, Mack, squid

Rigs: 2 & 3 hook flappers

Results: All sorts of whiting and only whiting.... : )

Report:

I've been wanting to make a post after a couple of blank sessions in great Marks    . Past few weeks has been very good when it comes to weather. So Gabriel and I decided early this week that we will hit the waters Saturday and plan for next coming days. Off we go early this morning to find out that we won't see the sun today and that wind would be strong. But none the less we headed towards the mark and set up 3 rods. We got our first bite after 30 minutes and yes! whiting is back. Bite detection is a bit difficult due to the wind but we still managed to reel in some more whiting and loads of fat crabs. Overall, a great session and it definitely beats the blanks I had at Dingle twice in perfect weather.

Some photos below. Don't mind the dates on the first couple of pictures the camera date was off by a day before 12 noon and was back on track this afternoon.

Seems to be an increase in the number of pins about just not the size, keeps the tip bouncing..
