Which compact camera do you use? There are so many products. It might be useful to share information by putting little comment + sample pic of your camera.
I use Pentax WS80 for fishing photos, bought for 135 euros (inc vat) at pixmania.ie. (Camera, 2GB memory card, Extra battery) It's light, small and 1.5m waterproof. Bit noisy image but all right after Neat Image. Need some light to shoot in the dark (no AF assist lamp). http://www.pentax.co.uk/en/group/5/product/16122/body/overview/Photo_Cameras.html
How about Canon, Nikon, Sony so on? Any information will be appreciated thanks

i use a canon powershot a40 its only two megapixels and is very old ,saying that it takes far better night time pics than the new family camera,i,m waiting on my new camera a fuji s9600 to arrive(got it second hand ) its my new toy and if it takes as good a pic as my brothers s6500fd fuji i,ll be a happy man was going to get a dslr but couldnt justify the cost for the amount i,d use it ,
i use a Nikon cool pix 10 mega pixels 3xzoom with 2.5 LCD. a great little camera with very fast shutter speed witch is great for fast pics of fish and better for releasing them back into the water. it came with a hard case and cost 120 euro i think. definitely a good camera for out and about shots and great for the angler. in my opinion.
i have two, one is a fujifilm finepix A330 its only 3.2 mega pixels but takes a great photo. i also have a Kodak Easyshare Z1012 IS 10.1 MEGA PIXELS HD, and it is a cracker of a camera, and i know it will be better if i can figure out how to work everything thats on it hers a few pic's i took with it...

Welcome to the forum papasenseida .I use 2 cameras. My main one is a Panasonic DMC-LC33, 3 x optical,3 x digital, takes great pics and is still working properly after 3 yrs of fishing sessions. The shutter on the lens sticks occassionally and needs some help, probably sand behind it, but apart from that its working fine .My other camera is an OLYMPUS SP-550UZ.This is trickier to use but has a good zoom of 18x. Great for pics when your whiling away the time.I keep the cameras in ziplock bags most of the times.I usually use the Panasonic for taking pics of fish as you just push the(dummy ) button and it does it all itself ,fish goes back quickly and youre not fumbling around at settings etc. There again i've just noticed that the 2 pics of fish that i've given as examples were taken on the Olympus, and the 2 other scenes were taken on the Panasonic ,,so dont mind me

Hello everybody, thanks for posting your camera info + lovely photos!!
Now, there are Pentax WS80, Canon , Nikon Cool Pix ??, OLYMPUS SP-550UZ, Panasonic DMC-LC33 and Fujifilm Finepix A330. Olympus SP-550UZ seems to be quite chunky camera. It's kind of nice that the first pic of the product page (JP) is actually a fishing pic http://olympus-imaging.jp/digitalcamera/sp550uz/
Please post more and more compact cameras! Mobile phone camera info will be also useful for the other readers!
For just a topic, lets bombard questions. I am quite curious about minor compacts, like GE and AGFA range. Is there anybody having or tried them?
Also, is there anybody chosen a high-range compact instead Single-lens reflex camera? SLR is almost always better for quality, but they are simply too chunky and expensive for me to carry around splash out. LEICA M9 may be just too much (for me it's crazy), but D-LUX 4 or like SIGMA DP2s or Ricoh GR DIGITAL III?
To contribute, I post two more pics, which are taken with Sony Ericsson C510 Cybershot Mobile, 3.2 meg pix, small and handy. It's just OK for carrying around
Whether you need to be discreet or just want to travel light, a camera's size and weight are important. Our top compact-camera picks run the gamut of mega pixel counts, features, and prices, but all the models have two things in common.
