a masterclass in being a shlick dog!

#1 Post by eric »

People: just me

Duration: 8-11

Tide: rising

Weather: calm

Bait: mac, rag and lug

Rigs: clip downs

Results: short spined sea scorpians, dogfish, dabs, shore rockling, whiting, pout, a lobster and more codling than captain birdseye's warehouse

Report:

due to peoples contractual agreements with mots, christnings, exams, whatever the fukc dfella was on about and much more, i was on my own tonight. having driven down by myself with daddy in the passengers seat i was off to fish a local rock mark for the hope of, whatever, to be honest. so with low hopes and less than high self esteem due to every one abandoning me i set about trying to get a few fish. i wasnt to dissapointed, every cast yielded either a couple of codling or a mixed bag. nothing of any substance but they were keeping the tip bouncing so i was fairly satisfied.

with the tide beginning to push the fish kept coming but i was starting to get bored, a little mini short spined made an appearance, ive never seen one so small. with daddy coming to deliver the car to me at 11 i only had another hour or so to make something decent happen. i snap desicion to fish in close by the ledge was made. first cast came back savaged by crabs, but the following cast recieved a sterling bite. i struck into a solid mass of weed. i pulled gently and the weight started to come. through the water came a bright orange shape. this must have been my first ever 3 beard. sadly it was not to be it was only codling of about a pound and a half, on the middle hook lay a lobster and on the bottom hook lay a dog. clearly evidence i was indeed a ledgand. but any how thats how i finished. not bad considering it was five minutes from the gaff :)
