Rough ground rod

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

#1 Post by EPClare »

Hi lads, Just wondering does any1 know where i could get a cheap rough ground rod? Some thing like a penn ruffstuff or a rt axellerator! New, but perferably second hand as im prone to breaking the damn things in the door of the car.

There was a Kompressor sport for sale on here a while ago..think Big balls was selling it.....€150 was the price....great rod for the rough stuff..... it'll drag anything you want out of the sea.
Not sure where you are based though but maybe PM him to see if he still has it.

Still that bit too pricy for the kompressor. Kinda had the axellerator in mind for a long time. The ground i fish is probably the roughest ul find. (the green island (miltown malbay), blue pool (doonbeg), the castle in kilkee, all in clare.

Hi EPCLare, there was a ruff stuff rod for sale here a few months back, great rod. Are you ground fishing from the Castle    you must have muscles like horse :D :D if you are using it for mack in the pool and the at the castle i would get something cheaper like one of the Hiro beach casters, i think they range in around €55, most rods will take a hammering at these locations, i always keep a cheap rod for these areas

Hope this helps
