meath 27/04

People: me

Duration: 21.30 to 2.00

Tide:high about two hours after i got there

Weather: rain

Rigs: pennel 2/0 and 3/0

Results: 2 flounder, 2 bass, one dogfish




Report: Went to the beach last night, looked good with a nice surf, two nice flounder aronnd 30cm. two bass, 55 and 48cm,
and a dogfish, the first iv seen from here.

nice fishing eeler, great to see some fish from meath at last :D ,ive been flat out fishing all stages of tide in bettystown and every session is a blank, dont suppose you would like to meet up for a wee session :wink: . you never said what bait you used :?:
cant make out if thats sand or rock under the rag :?:
what a birthday present :!:

iv been using rag but i'd say crab would be good as the bass and flounder were full of them, i was reading your report on bettystown, iv never heard of much being caught there but have you try'd baltray across the river, iv fished about eight nights this month and caught very litttle untill tuesday [was out again last night, same spot, got two flounder but there was no surf].I think your best bet is fishing on a mild night when theres a good surf after a strong s s/e wind, i put up a longer post but it got deleted, was it something i said.

les baltray is louth lads, i didn't say thats where i was, i said you should try it instead of bettystown, was out for four hours tonight, brought the camera but only got one flounder

still getting fish eeler ,well done. did you fish the same mark again :?: thats certainly not the grain of sand around these beaches :lol:
was going to go out last night myself but the sea was very flat,sorry now i did'nt i might of found you :mrgreen: think i might of fished on the same beach as you last week ,i had the green jeep out on the stones :?:

yea i think you had the right idea staying in, it was dead calm and the weathers giving light northly winds for the next few days so thats not good, i was in termonfeckin last night, got the flounder on my first cast, then nothing for four hours,
