guilty as charged lesson learnt its just i never seen one before, there was a pair of them in it about 4ft depth so i had to try and get them off the bottom :roll:

Are spidey crabs tastey?
I know a spot i can get plenty of them snorkeling in the summer.

Seriously tho, commiserations, I'd've eaten the frigger raw for that.... there's a lot of them round the edges of the Black Rocks at the west end of Ballyquin, so no poking there.

theres plenty of flesh in the main body aswell - just not as handy as the legs - give it 15mins to break it down slowly - well worth the effort - just mind your fingers when your breaking it and teasing out the flesh!

theres plenty of flesh in the main body aswell - just not as handy as the legs - give it 15mins to break it down slowly - well worth the effort - just mind your fingers when your breaking it and teasing out the flesh

oops thought it was just legs, opened the main body looks of guck and what looked like lungs so wasnt sure and wasnt taking any chances, that lure rod is now a lite boat rod :oops:

the gluck can just be washed off - the flesh that comes out of the sockets goes further up a bit into the body cavity

tasty crabs for sure:) plently of meat in the claws, never took the meat out of the legs because there is plenty in the body and claws for 2 people, also a fan of the brown (king?) crab.
tasted out the claws with a finger,ouch! lesson learned:)
