Results: After putting down a bad week at work got onto Bassmania during the day and we decided to hit towards a mark that we have never tried before. After that my week just took a nose dive, had a crash just after lunch, What the F&"k else could wrong this week Got everything sorted out with the other driver (i had ploughed into the back of him) and set off home. Now really needed the fishing trip, the only thing was that this was going to be a big risk as we had never fished the mark we were going to. I headed off in front of Brian in search of fresh lug, got some lovely juicy ones and with that it was time for fishing. Everything started quiet Nerves was starting to kick in as i had picked the mark and i could hear Bassmania's Stare Then about half way into the tide the bites started coming, very very light bites but they were bites Bassmania was first off the mark with a lovely plump Flounder. We took some rattler of bites but missed, both of us were thinking that these were not flounder bits but we were afraid to mention the 'B' word, at last success Bassmania had a lovely Bass At this stage i was thinking i knew how my week could get worse, a bloody blank When another nice little rattle came up trumps with a nice flounder, Close one Blank saved. Then things got frustrating i missed about 4 solid rattles, AAAAGGGGHHHH Bassmania had another nice flounder. Bassmania at this stage gave me the lift i needed as my hopes were starting to sink again, a good solid ' Get those rods rebaited and out' After a couple of minutes i had a rattle and struck, i was connected with something but was saying a decade of the rosary at the same time Bassmania's cheer confirmed what i wanted to hear there was a bass in the surf, had a couple of nervous seconds until he was on the beach My week had just gotten better and after that i had another lovely Flounder, great session and great crack had was nervous of not knowing the area but job done
Regards Conger

Cheers Dan, It turned out to be a great little session, espeicially after my car trouble
What a difference a week makes in the business of shore fishing! After last weeks session, the thing that sticks out in my mind is always have a plan "B", bait venue etc. and when Conger asked to try a new location, I kept thinking to myself where else could fish well within travelling distance
Giving Conger the compass of late has not being the best plan (ask the responsible drivers in county kerry) but it was his turn to pick the spot and in the end was a great call and all of a sudden, the week got that better. Great session in the end.

Defo having the plan B has worked out, but as you said what a difference a week had in fishing terms i think i will have to hand back the compass now
