left over monday

#1 Post by eric »

People: gordo, fuller and mizzle

Duration: 7-12

Tide: the flood

Weather: calm

Bait: crab, rag, lug, sandeel and mac

Rigs: clip downs on my part

Results: starry smoothound, common smoothound, dabs, whiting, codling, flounder and dogfish

Report:
well a pln was hatched to hit a wexford beach in the hope of sme pup hounds and maybe if we were really lucky a spotted ray as it was that time of year again. so upon arrival to the beach we were greated with a flat calm beach, perfect. with 2 hours of daylight to burn up we struggled to snare any fish with only conor managing a pin whiting. once darkness struck however the fish came in and it was a case of at least a dog a cast for the most part on my account. at around 10 i managed my first hound of the year, only a toddy hound but my first none the less. it took sandeel of all things, soon afterwards i managed another which turnt out to be a starry on crab. gordy managed treble flounder and conor picked up a good few dogs. short report but it was a pleasant evening, no ray sadly :(
