glasgow angling center
Anybody used these guys for mail order before?
website looks good but just worried about delivery due to the iceland volcano grounding flights?
seems a reasonable place and good delivery prices

Re: glasgow angling center
Postage from GAC is very reasonable but I have had poblems in the past with gear being out of stock and delays with delivery.Veals are a bit more for postage but the order has always arrived within two days.

same as above with gac wouldnot be in any hurry to deal with them again.veals or gerrys of morcambe would be a better bet imho.

Re: glasgow angling center
I used them before Christmas they were very helpful, had excellent deals, free gifts and £15 post for 4 rods 5 reels and a load of bits and pieces. Some items were out of stock but were posted at their own cost later on one reel was damaged and they sent out a new one no bother.
I used them again about a month ago and they matched the price of a mould from Gerry’s of Morecombe Bay.
Will def be using them again, recommend them to all my friends

Was in their shop a few years back, not far from the centre of glasgow and larger than most Tesco stores over here! well worth the visit, and good value as well.

Re: glasgow angling center
Ive used them a few times for tackle, theyre pretty good but like the rest have said you can wait for over a week to get gear.
Spotted Dog Tackle is very good for rods and reels....I got a new rod from them, came within a couple of days in massive cylindrical cardboard thing....there was no chance it would get damaged and like I say, were very fast.

Re: glasgow angling center
I have used them once and was happy, got a few things the rod they sent was damaged one eye cracked. Rang them straight away and they sent another rod free of charge and told me not to bother resending the other one back. So two for the price of one. I also ordered a luggage set it was out of stock so i was upgraded to the next best luggage set, no extra cost. Had a problem with the rugsack((mustard holdall) it developed a tear within a month, so i rang them and they asked me to send it back. Got mad prices back from couier crowds etc and told them the cost of it they asked for proof of cost and said dont bother and they will replace my bag free of charge. When i recieved the bag it was again upgraded to the next size. Very happy with the service always friendly to me over the phone & email and i know a few shops over here use them to get some gear in too. If the equipment is out of stock they will send on the equipment that is in stock and then resend the equipment at a later date at there own expense. Would recommend them from my own experiance.

Re: glasgow angling center
Cost & selection I would imagine.do you all not shop local ? and why ?
Have to say, they are the main 2 reasons I order stuff from overseas.
I do get a few bits locally, but only when I'm stuck.

I also used the spottydod for feathers, they had sets with 10 feathers about 3m long ideal for mackerel at different levels off a boat or divided in two from the shore.leec wrote:Ive used them a few times for tackle, theyre pretty good but like the rest have said you can wait for over a week to get gear.

The post would rocket if you up the number from what I can remember.
You might get better deal if you rang them.

veals and gerrys of morecambe are fairly good to deal with. I have ordered on line from both and have had good service.

Glasgow Angling Centre.
I recomend them very highly, I have bought pieces of kit from them for a couple of years now.
Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Returns never any probs send it back or if too dear replace anyway.
A couple of times I ordered stuff that was out of stock and got upgraded FOC or was put on back order.
Once I ordered a reel, it was put on back order they had problems sourcing it so rang me to tell what was going on said it may take a month or so to get, gave me a refund and credited my account with £15 for any inconvience.

Re: glasgow angling center
Always found Veals and Gerry's of M much better - price, selection and quality of gear. Glasgow also has a tendency to state a price without VAT added
