Bass Lures For Estuary

#1 Post by Deleted User 3977 »

Hi,
I live near an estuary and I think there is bass there. It is very weedy and it has a lot of crustacians and small fish swimming aroung. What lures should I use there.
Any replies apperciated,

Most of my fishing is places like that - dont use anything expensive!

Surface or top water lures, anything that floats free if you get snagged, are my first choice. I remove the trebles and put on a single hook as an extra precaution -if there are also sea trout around, dont put on anything too big, they've smaller mouths. Soft plastics on jelly hooks are also fairly snag free.

After that, I'd buy a selection and see what the local fish fancy, it varies.

Try a few cheapies like German Spratts and Dexters Wedge, you may loose a few but they seem to work even if they are not in fashion at the moment.
