Kilgorman 17th of April ....Leinster League u-16 and 21

#1 Post by trout hunter jnr »

People:Well me and then 3 or 4 u21's and 5 or 6 u16s

Duration:check in 3-30....Fishing comp 5-9

Tide:Rising I fink

Weather:A horrible awl wind but sunny

Bait:Lug tipped with mack

Rigs:Homemade by my minion and eric even donated 1 to me :D thanks for that eric :P

Results:1 solitary whiting 5 cm  :P

Report:Was looking forward to this and so Joe Byrne brought me down to Kilgorman and signed in and got ready :D while getting ready eric gave me a rig to use but no rig would get me fish for the next few hours anyway...No-one got any great fishing i think that the most caught was 4 in the u-21s, 2 in the u-16's

Never have I thought much of the last cast but yesterday my mind differed  Reeled in and barely on the hook was a pinhead whiting putting me in 3rd spot in league :) not bad for first day out and I got great advice from Eamonn and Rodney....My dad was busy away fishing the blackwater river. He caught no fish but just like me got some sound advice and his brown bread got its claim to fame   :D
Fisherman's prayer:
God grant that I may live to fish, For another rainy day.
But when my final cast is made, I then most humbly pray.
When nestled in your landing net, As I lay peacefully asleep.
You'll smile at me and judge, That I'm "good enough to keep"!

Well done on the place Junior. Sometimes that last cast means everything. At my first comp I thought I had a dog fish on the last cast. It turn out to be a glove filled with stones and sand though
