Antrim Coast rock mark. 17-04-10

#1 Post by rab01 »

People:Me and Tommy

Duration:7am - noon

Tide:rising

Weather:lovely sunshine

Bait:ragworm

Rigs:sliding float rig

Results:3 Pollock and loads of Coalies 20+

Report:The glorious weather over this past week really put me in the notion to try a daylight session at one of my favourite rock marks. I really thought fishing would be slow, especially as we arrived at the mark a low tide but thankfully I was to be wrong. Tommy had landed a pollock before I had even setup! Happy days. We caught another Pollock each and then the coalies arrived on the scene, float was going under every cast, had to remind myself that its still only April!! Over the next few hours we pulled in plenty of fish, lost count really but it was well over the twenty mark. Caught nothing at all over the last hour and a half. Biggest pollock was about 1 1/2 pound and we had plenty of coalies around the pound mark. Great mornings sport, roll on the summer!!

Thanks Crazy, cracking session mate. Only thing missing was getting a few wrasse, shouldn't be long for them now. Hopefully a good sign for the season ahead. 8)

Nice fishing.

Nothing better than seeing a pollack or coalie drag your float under! They really look as if they mean business!
