If you're doing mostly beach and the odd bit of ruff stuff then a 525mag may be another alternative? Then again if every second session is in the rough stuff you're probably better off with the Slosh.

Have the older model Slosh 20, magic bit of kit, unbreakable, has stood the test of time. It could still be available to buy and would probably come in alot cheaper.

it is the new version of the sl20 mate ,different handle and the spool disengages completly from the drive when casting just some upgrades from daiwa ,it can be used for surf casting and dirty ground .one thing though they are a little faster than the old model for casting .you have been told.hope this helps beachcaster.

I have an SLX40 - bought it as an all round casting boat reel/ uptider. Worked great once I put the brake blocks in the right way round! Very well put together.
