Tullagh/Dunaff and Lenan 10-4-10

#1 Post by fishermannum1 »

People me and the son

Duration 12.30pm to app; 9.15pm

Tide up and down

Weather great, but very windy at lenan

Bait mac/squid/prawns/crab/sandeels

Rigs pullys/2 hook flappers

Results coalies

Report we headed off to try around a few of the more likely marks to see if anything was about, dropped in at Dunaff for a while and we were straight into coalies, at the end up we were trying everything to try and avoid them, large baits at distance were put out only to be brought back in with a coalie on board  there just seamed that there was no way we could avoid them, so we moved on to try another mark just a few miles up the road. on our very first casts we got more coalies, and they just kept coming, wouldn't have minded but they were all very small, and our bait was quickly disappearing, so another move was made to yet another mark, COALIES AGAIN  so we packed away the gear and drove on to lenan pier, got the gear set up and large cocktail baits were put out to distance, and guess what we got   more bloodly coalies again and small ones at that, at the end up we ran out of bait and headed home for the spuds. but this trip out gave me the chance to check out my new rod the century blackbird, and have to say one thing about it "SWEET" i love it, cant wait to give it a run out at the thornies 8)

Well done Don, good report and pics - looks like you had great weather.
At least you got to try out your new toy.
I knew you would be impressed with it, it's a nice peice of kit, (wasted on you really!!  ) only joking mate.
As you already said I must get a cast with it when Norman and I are up for a thornie session with you.
I can't believe you'd actually trust me with it to have a cast, K2 won't let me near any of his good rods incase I break them!

cheer's paula, the weather was unbelievable, and the run out with the new rod was great, it is truly a good piece of kit, great to cast with and very slim and light, no need to wack it out, just a over head cast and it flys, works well with the 6500 ct mag...

Never a bad complaint too many fish, shouldn't be long for the thornies to show Don.

Good to see you at it....
