Co. Sligo Rock Spining Session 10-04-10

#1 Post by FisherKing »

People:Myself & the Girlfriend

Duration:3 Hrs

Tide:stranding

Weather:Warm & Sunny with light North East Wind

Bait:Spinner

Rigs:None

Results: 4 Coaleys , 1 Pollock

Report:

A spur of the moment session, decided to give the spinning another go & see if the Pollock had made a return & try to break my bad spell of blanking (five in a row) !
After a Fifteen minute drive we were at the mark, sea was calm & the sun shining like a summers day. I was just about to take my first cast when I spotted a shoal of mullet cruising along the weed, a good sign I thought!
Hopes were high at this stage but after two hours & not a bite  the thought of a sixth blank was on the cards then bang was into my first lure caught fish this year a nice Coaley, blanked saved, managed another three of them between 30 and 40cm before it went quiet.
Then on the last cast got a nice Pollock just over the 3 lb mark which give a great scrap was delighted to see them back here again the Wrasse won’t be too far behind. All & all good session with two new species :D !
